Free Covid-19 Testing

There are reports from people who have been tested at freestanding ERs of bills exceeding $6,000 for a COVID-19 test. If you decide you need to be tested the above link is a good resource or you can register locally in Blanco and our local EMS will test you for free. SPECIAL NOTICE (06/30/2020)

The laboratory is currently over capacity due to increased demand. As such, today we are testing symptomatic patients only. If you do NOT currently have symptoms, your testing registration will be placed onto a ‘STANDBY’ list, and you will be contacted once the lab has capacity for asymptomatic patients. Capacity will be reviewed weekdays at noon.

IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE SYMPTOMS, please continue with registration. Patients with current symptoms will continue to be prioritized and tested immediately (typically same day).

If you have been exposed to COVID-19, but do not have symptoms, you are required to quarantine for 14 days, regardless if you are tested and regardless of your test results.

MOBILE TEST COLLECTION will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020 starting at 8:00 am at LBJ High School, 505 N. Nugent Ave, Johnson City. You must register: or call 512-883-2400. Tests are conducted by appointment only. You must be symptomatic and will be screened to see if you have: Fever and/or Chills; Cough; Fatigue; Body Aches/Muscle or Joint Pain; Shortness of Breath; Sore Throat; Headaches; Nausea/Vomiting/Diarrhea; Nasal Congestion; Loss of Taste and/or Smell.

2020 Annual Fire/EMS Fish Fry

It’s time for the Annual Fire/EMS Fish Fry at Yett Park on Hwy 281.  Please join us at this annual FUNDRAISING event for fabulous fish and fixin’s, live music from The Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, gun raffle, silent auction and kids events! 

This event is hosted by the Blanco Fire & EMS  Auxiliary.  All proceeds will be used to equip and support emergency services.  We thank you for your support!

Hearts ‘n Heels 5K Run (or walk!)

On Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 8:30am, runners from across the state participated for a ladies only 5K run (or walk!) in our beautiful town of Blanco, Texas during Wild Woman Weekend.  All proceeds from this event went to support our Blanco Fire & EMS! We look forward to hosting co-ed running events in the future. Check back for future dates!

Fire Department Fish Fry

The annual Blanco Fire Department’s Fish Fry, which is a major community event for the department, was held on April 6, 2019 at the original fire station located on Pecan St. We were able to say goodbye to the old station before we moved into the new station on Blanco Ave. This was our first major fundraiser and we truly appreciated all of the community’s support of our fire fighters!
